A future where everyone can eat well and live well
We envision a Cameroon where every person, regardless of age, income or location, has access to safe, nutritious and affordable food, and the knowledge and support needed to make healthy dietary choices. A country where no child is held back by malnutrition, no family suffers because healthy food is out of reach, and every community has the opportunity to thrive through better nutrition.
Because when nutrition improves, health improves. Children learn better. Adults are more productive. Families become more resilient. Communities prosper.
That is the future we are working towards.
Why we exist
Cameroon produces enough food to nourish its people. Yet hunger, micronutrient deficiencies, overweight, obesity and diet-related diseases continue to affect millions of lives.
The problem is not simply the availability of food. It is the complex interaction of poverty, conflict, climate change, rapid urbanisation, changing dietary habits, food safety challenges, limited nutrition knowledge, economic shocks and unequal access to healthy diets.
These challenges demand more than short-term solutions.
The J & A Oben Foundation exists to understand these challenges, address their root causes and build sustainable solutions that improve nutrition and health for everyone.
Our mission is to promote healthy nutrition for healthier living by transforming evidence into practical action that changes lives.

How we make a difference

We believe that lasting change happens when science, communities and partnerships work together.
Our work combines expertise in nutrition, public health, education, research, technology and social development to design solutions that respond to the realities of the communities we serve.
We listen before we act. We use research to understand problems. We work alongside communities to develop practical solutions. We evaluate our programmes to ensure they deliver measurable results and continuously improve them using evidence.
Whether responding to nutrition emergencies or helping families adopt healthier diets, our approach is always people-centred, evidence-based and sustainable.
Our impact

20,000
Lives Impacted
Over
Millions
To Reach
Since our establishment in 2020, the J & A Oben Foundation has reached more than 20,000 people through nutrition programmes, community outreach, research initiatives and capacity-building activities across Cameroon.
Behind every number is a child receiving better nourishment, a caregiver making informed food choices, a health worker equipped with new knowledge or a community becoming more resilient.
While we are proud of what we have achieved, we know that millions more people still need support.
Our work is only beginning.
Our Partners
Improving nutrition is a shared responsibility.
Over the years, we have been privileged to work alongside governments, academic institutions, development partners, civil society, the private sector and local communities because no single organisation can solve complex nutrition challenges alone.
As we continue to grow, we welcome new partnerships that share our commitment to improving nutrition and building healthier communities.
